- Cumulative Ack : When a segment is received whose sequence number is greater than expected, the receiver repeats its most recent acknowledgement. 수신자가 예상된 위치 이후의 자료를 받았을 경우, 수신자는 연속된 자료의 가장 마지막 정렬 번호를 발송자에게 보낸다.
- Fast Retransmit & Fast Recovery : Waiting for RTO taks too much time. Instead, if the sender receives three identical acknowledgements in a row, it halves the size of the congestion window. Cumulative Ack가 일어나는 경우는 특정 패킷이 지연 또는 소멸되었을 경우에 발생한다. 발송자는 이것이 세 번 발생한 경우, 패킷 문제가 지연이 아닌 소멸로 인한 문제라고 간주하고 패킷을 제발송한다.
